FUTURE LEADER IN THE MAKING.

Our prep assembly was treated to an absolute masterclass in confidence yesterday.

Right after the assembly, we stepped outside to capture this snippet in front of the big red door. Even with parents gathering all around for pick-up, 'young ...Emmeline' wasn't phased for a second, delivering her speech as the iconic suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst with absolute conviction.

The parents looking on were so incredibly impressed, standing there captivated and clapping with so much pride!

Nearing the end of her Year 3 year, it is remarkable to see how this young lady's confidence has sky-rocketed with the support of her teachers, peers and family.

This performance is just a sneak peek of what’s to come for our highly anticipated Waxworks event this July. Our pupils will transform the playground into a living history museum, standing as perfectly still statues until a visitor steps in front of them to prompt them to spring to life!

Sometimes, you hear the gentle buzz of a classroom with the door wide open, and you just have to pop in to see what is happening.

Step inside Miss Powell’s Year 3 English lesson, where you'll find a wonderfully calm, mindful, and relaxing environment. This is a space where our ...children are stretched academically within a warm and reassuring setting.

The focus of this lesson was mastering adverbial clauses. As independent work began, Miss Powell provided individualised written and verbal feedback for every single pupil. By taking the time to sit alongside our students, she was able not only to guide them through their current task but also to reflect back on previous learning, celebrating past successes while gently dialling in on areas to improve.

This continuous feedback loop is vital for student growth, and it is seamlessly paired with self and peer assessment (and just as importantly, plenty of smiles along the way!) It is our small class sizes and specialist teachers that ensure this perfect balance of stretch and support can be achieved every day.

From Chicago to Cheshire.

As we prepare to say goodbye to our Year 6 students in a few short weeks, we asked our families to reflect on their time at Bowdon Prep. We were delighted that the responses captured the very essence of our school, and Mrs. Jones’s reflection about her ...daughter’s journey is living proof of what we strive to provide for every child.

Looking back on moving from Chicago in Year 3, Mrs. Jones notes how the immediate warmth of BPS meant her daughter felt like she had always been here within just one week.

Mrs. Jones describes how the school gave her daughter a supportive yet challenging environment that stretched her academically and allowed her to grow massively in both confidence and ability. A true highlight was drama and the performing arts, where she found her genuine passion and was given truly special opportunities to shine.

Mrs. Jones shared a heartfelt thank you to every teacher who supported, encouraged, and believed in her daughter, noting that she leaves for secondary school as a confident young girl with her head held high. We had the absolute pleasure of visiting @reptonschool @reptonprep for our first official link-up since joining the Repton Family of Schools.

The Repton team hosted an incredible day of adventure. Our pupils threw themselves into outdoor activities, toasted marshmallows, explored the school grounds, and took part in athletics, before viewing the magnificent theatre and honing their dancing skills. @reptonsport @reptonperformingarts

What makes Bowdon Prep so special?

It’s walking into a Year 5 art lesson and finding a masterclass in creativity, collaboration, and calm.

Our girls have been developing their drawing skills by exploring tone, shading, and texture. Using artist pencils, they worked on creating... realistic violin illustrations - carefully applying these techniques to add incredible depth and form to their work.

But the lesson became truly magical after a wonderful suggestion from Mrs Rylance. She invited some of our young musicians to play, and off the cuff, the girls rose to the occasion - giving their classmates a beautiful live soundtrack to sketch to.

It created the most peaceful, inspiring environment. To see our pupils feel so confident to step up and share their musical talents with their peers is exactly what makes our school community so unique.

A huge thank you to the our Head of Art, Mrs Chapman, for leading such a memorable lesson, and to Mrs Rylance for sparking that extra bit of classroom magic.

Welcome to The Great British Bake Off: Reception Edition!

Our pupils have been completely immersed in the world of The Gingerbread Man this week. They started by reading the classic tale, diving into creative role-play in their very own classroom "Café," and practicing their ...fantastic handwriting.

The ultimate culmination of all their hard work? Stepping into the baking tent! From weighing out the ingredients to perfectly rolling and cutting the dough, these little bakers proved they have what it takes to be future Star Bakers.
